Alumna to serve in new state administration
UIndy graduate Anita Kolkmeier Samuel, general counsel for Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, will have a prominent role in the new administration of Mike Pence.
Indiana’s next governor announced this week that Samuel, a member of the UIndy Alumni Association’s Board of Directors and its Executive Committee, will be the director of the state Department of Personnel.
Samuel joined the Daniels administration in 2005 as assistant general counsel specializing in state personnel matters.
“Anita Samuel has an impressive record of service in the Daniels Administration,” Pence said in a news release. “She is a proven leader who will capably serve the thousands of dedicated Hoosiers who work for the people and State of Indiana.”
Before obtaining her law degree from Indiana University, Samuel earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from UIndy in 1998.
