Religion prof speaks about crisis ministry
Professor Gregory Clapper of UIndy’s Department of Philosophy & Religion was a featured speaker recently at the United Methodist Church’s first national convocation for police, fire and crisis-response chaplains.
The December event in Nashville, Tenn., was sponsored by UMC’s Board of Higher Education and Ministry. The United Methodist News Service covered Clapper’s presentation for a story that can be read here.
Clapper is a colonel and chaplain in the Indiana Air National Guard and serves as joint National Guard chaplain liaison for the U.S. military’s Africa Command. His books include When the World Breaks Your Heart: Spiritual Ways of Living With Tragedy (Upper Room Books, 1999).
