Thursday was a good night for Greyhound basketball, and William Hudnut was there to see it.

The former Indianapolis mayor and UIndy trustee attended the evening doubleheader as a guest of UIndy President Robert Manuel and was presented with a game ball. Hudnut served the city from 1976 to 1991, and his papers from that tenure are a key component of UIndy’s Institute for Civic Leadership & Mayoral Archives. Hudnut and Manuel met while working at Georgetown University.

For the record, the men’s team trounced the visiting McKendree Bearcats 100-66, and the UIndy women posted an even more lopsided 81-39 victory.
