Senator sports Greyhound jersey for game
UIndy was well represented last week in Washington, D.C., when members of the U.S. Congress took the field for the annual Congressional Baseball Game, a good-natured partisan battle with proceeds supporting worthy causes.
The players typically wear jerseys representing college teams from their home states. Indiana’s newest senator, Joe Donnelly, opted for a University of Indianapolis jersey, which the Department of Athletics was happy to provide. The photo above was posted to his Facebook page.
Donnelly came out a winner Thursday at Nationals Park, as the Democrats trounced the Republicans 22-0. The game, part of a tradition that dates to 1909, raised $300,000 for the Washington Literacy Center, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington and the Nationals Dream Foundation.
