UIndy experts discuss FBI artifacts probe

Chris Moore - WTHR - 4-4-2014Dr. Christopher Moore, left, displays American Indian artifacts to WTHR’s Rich Van Wyk, center, during an interview Friday in Lilly Science Hall.

Two UIndy professors provided some perspective this week when the FBI began investigating a Rush County man’s vast collection of American Indian artifacts and other historic items from around the world.

The investigation has raised interesting questions about the legal and ethical issues involved in collecting such antiquities — issues quite familiar to UIndy’s Dr. Christopher Schmidt and Dr. Christopher Moore, who often lead students on archeological digs around the country.
