May 2017 Commencement ceremony to be held indoors
The University of Indianapolis will hold its May 6, 2017 Commencement ceremony in Nicoson Hall due to inclement weather. The decision was made to move the event inside due to concerns about the saturated grounds at Key Stadium, and to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for attendees.
The event will be split into two ceremonies in order to accommodate graduates and their guests. The ceremonies will be held in Nicoson Hall at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
11 a.m. Commencement Ceremony schedule
This commencement ceremony will include all doctoral candidates, master’s and undergraduate candidates from the Center for Aging & Community, the College of Applied Behavioral Sciences, the College of Health Sciences and the School of Nursing.
9:30 a.m. Report to Ruth Lilly Fitness Center for line-up.
10:30 a.m. Commencement processional begins.
11 a.m. Commencement ceremony begins.
3 p.m. Commencement Ceremony schedule
This commencement ceremony will include master’s and undergraduate candidates from the School for Adult Learning, the School of Business, the School of Education, and the Shaheen College of Arts and Sciences.
1:30 p.m. Report to Ruth Lilly Fitness Center for line-up.
2:30 p.m. Commencement processional begins.
3 p.m. Commencement ceremony begins.
More than 1,470 University of Indianapolis students completed their degrees between December 2016 and August 2017 at the home campus, and 136 more graduated from UIndy’s partner sites in China and Central America. This year’s graduates hail from 24 states and 24 nations.
