Faculty, students represent UIndy at regional athletic training conference
The Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association was held in March 2019 and UIndy Athletic Training was well-represented by both faculty and students who made presentations.
Stacey Gaven, assistant professor, gave an oral presentation on research she conducted with colleagues at a previous institution. The presentation was “The Relationship between Sensorimotor Function and Clinician Measures of Function in Individuals with Chronic Ankle Instability.”
Andrew Doyle, adjunct faculty, hosted a learning lab titled “It’s all in the Hips: Demystifying Hip-Lumbo-Pelvic Alignment and Correction.”
Two athletic training students made poster presentations. Carrie Schnaiter’s poster discussed “Management of a Collegiate Soccer Player with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus,” and Karen Holmes presented “Tibia/Fibula Fracture with Acute Compartment Syndrome in a Collegiate Football Athlete.
The UIndy Athletic Training program, under the direction of Jessica Jochum, will graduate its first Master’s cohort in May 2019. Learn more about the program.
