UIndy Faculty, Staff Provide Expert Insight to Local & National Media in July
As part of their commitment to “education for service,” faculty and staff at the University of Indianapolis share their expertise with local and national news outlets in order to keep our community informed and to introduce new perspectives on current issues.
UIndy faculty and staff were featured in the following news stories in July:
Jessica Sremanak, director of employer engagement, explained how the upcoming Meet UIndy event would help employers connect with the next generation of job seekers for a live segment on WISH-TV as well as WTHR.
Dr. Matt Will, associate professor of finance, shared his expertise and a few tips for parents on WXIN as back-to-school shopping costs hit a new record high for a segment which also aired on other stations around the state including WEHT. He also discussed various financial topics for multiple live interview segments with Tony Katz on WIBC.
Dr. Jill Henderzahs-Mason, assistant professor of physical therapy, Dr. Paul Salamh, associate professor of physical therapy, and former associate professor Dr. Heidi Ewen had research published by the National Library of Medicine on how the beliefs, knowledge, and demands of physical therapists influence health promotion, wellness and disease prevention practices in outpatient physical therapy.
Dr. Leah Courtland, associate professor and chair of the physics & Earth-space science department, had research published in the Journal of Applied Volcanology exploring the use and effectiveness of ground penetrating radar to document the cones of volcanoes which erupted at least 100,000 years ago.
Dr. Tanuja Singh was named to the Indiana 250 list by the Indianapolis Business Journal, signifying her place as one of the 250 most influential business leaders in Indiana.
Dr. Gregory Shufeldt, associate professor of political science, shared insight to the Indianapolis Star as U.S. Rep. Marlin Stutzman faced backlash for signaling his support for legislation that would grant legal status to undocumented immigrants working on farms.
