The University of Indianapolis today announced the launch of UIndy Online to expand access to affordable and flexible education in high-demand fields for working adults, transfer students and other post-traditional learners. UIndy Online’s initial undergraduate degree programs—health sciences, organizational leadership and elementary education for paraprofessionals—were selected to meet clear workforce needs for the state of Indiana.

UIndy Online is offering a free first course for current students and recent graduates of Ivy Tech Community College, employees of UIndy’s corporate partners and healthcare organizations as well as veterans, active-duty, reserve military personnel and their families. This is part of the University of Indianapolis’s commitment to expand access to education by reducing financial barriers and creating flexible pathways for all learners, particularly those balancing work and family commitments.

UIndy Online is designed to meet the needs of both employees and employers by offering a fully online format and accelerated seven-week classes that allow students to build their skills without stepping away from their jobs. With tuition set at $400 per credit hour—comparable to in-state public institutions—the model expands access and supports workforce development.

“Higher education must serve today’s learners and tomorrow’s workforce,” said University of Indianapolis President Tanuja Singh. “With nearly half of all core job skills expected to change by 2030, we have to create opportunities that are accessible and relevant for people balancing their careers, their families and their long-term goals. I am excited about how UIndy Online offers a more direct connection between education and workforce needs across Indiana.”

UIndy Online has launched with three undergraduate degree programs:

  • B.S. in Elementary Education for Paraprofessional Educators (Associate to Bachelor’s Track) — A pathway for paraprofessionals in the classroom to become licensed elementary school teachers in as little as two years after attaining an associate’s degree.
  • B.S. in Health Sciences — A non-clinical program that provides a foundation in health systems, population health, policy and data-informed decision-making, which prepares graduates for a wide range of roles in the health care industry or for advanced study.
  • B.S. in Organizational Leadership — A program designed to help students lead teams, manage change and improve organizational performance with practical skills in areas like AI fluency, communication and problem solving which can be applied immediately across a broad spectrum of industries.

“Each of these programs has been intentionally chosen to align with clear workforce needs and serve as a pathway to help students advance in their interests and careers,” said UIndy Online Dean Yimin Wang. “From the structure of the courses to the tuition model and free course opportunities to the support systems in place, every part of UIndy Online is designed to help students progress and apply what they are learning in real-world situations. Our goal is to create an experience that is as flexible and relevant as the students themselves.”

UIndy is now accepting applications. The first classes for all programs will begin in August. For more information about UIndy Online, including available programs and enrollment details, visit UIndy Online.
