Indianapolis Star: Indiana Gov.-elect Mike Braun will have to navigate differences within the GOP

Few can accuse Gov.-elect Mike Braun of being unprepared.

The day after his Nov. 5 election by a wide margin, Braun had a transition team in place. In a week, he filled out that team with a dozen subject-based councils, each with their own dozen or so team members. They helped him build a 40-page policy agenda. And in the meantime, he reorganized the executive branch.

The puzzle pieces are in place, but come his inauguration Jan. 13, like every governor before him, Braun will brush up against realities that challenge some aspects of his agenda. [continue reading]
