Etchings Magazine is managed by students taking the courses ENGL 379 and ENGL 580. In these courses, students select writing and art pieces to publish based on submissions from students, faculty, staff, and alumni. They then design, edit, and eventually publish an issue by the end of a term.

Liz Whiteacre, associate professor of English and co-advisor of Etchings Press, believes that the success of Etchings is a testament to the talent and work ethic of UIndy students.

“We are proud that the work students did last year in ENGL 379: Etchings Magazine was recognized and honored nationally,” said Whiteacre. “There is a lot of talent at UIndy, and our literary fine arts magazine is an excellent opportunity to showcase it and offer students an experience in publishing that prepares them for their futures.”
