WICR continues to offer students play-by-play broadcasting opportunities during pandemic

With the loss of the UIndy college football season this fall due to the pandemic, WICR Radio pivoted to provide students interested in sports broadcasting live play-by-play experiences.  Students called a full 15-game high school football schedule on the station’s HD 3 channel, which included obtaining the IHSAA broadcast rights for six tournament games.  Students Hershell Taylor and Corbin Lingenfelter broadcast the Class 3-A State Championship game between Indianapolis Bishop Chatard and Danville Saturday afternoon from Lucas Oil Stadium.
