‘UIndy Day’ to celebrate university community
Evening reception highlights student-faculty research
The entire University of Indianapolis community is invited to celebrate and support what makes the institution special this Thursday, April 21, during the first annual UIndy Day.
Alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends are encouraged to share what they love about UIndy on social media (hashtag #UIndyDay) and watch for special short videos and events throughout the day. This day of giving also presents opportunities to support special projects and help them earn matching gifts.
The projects include athletics initiatives, the purchase of a 3-D printer and the development of a multidisciplinary collaborative space in Martin Hall. Each project that receives 50 donors on UIndy Day will earn a $1,000 match, and the project with the most donors will earn an additional $2,000 matching gift. All alumni who make a gift on UIndy Day also will be entered into a drawing to name one of Krannert Memorial Library’s famous “egg chairs.”
Participation can take many forms:
- Update your social media sites with UIndy Day graphics, available here for download.
- Visit the Schwitzer Student Center atrium between 7:30 and 10 a.m. Thursday for coffee, treats and a special photo opportunity.
- Faculty and staff may complete a donation form or give online if they have not already made gifts to the university this fiscal year. Donors will be entered into a drawing for a reserved parking space.
- Learn about unique student-faculty research and creative projects at the Student Research & Creativity Showcase, beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday in Stierwalt Alumni House. RSVP here.
