David Wantz earns second Sagamore of the Wabash award
Dr. Wantz recently completed serving as Executive Vice President and Provost at the University of Indianapolis and has served the institution since 1982. At his retirement celebration on June 1, he was honored with a second Sagamore of the Wabash award presented by Indiana’s Governor’s Office.
A professor of psychology, Dr. Wantzhas also served the University as dean of students and director of corporate and foundation giving and as special assistant to the president for community and government relations. He has an extensive background in community development and served the administrations of Indianapolis Mayors Greg Ballard and Joe Hogsett as the director of public safety.
Actively involved in community service, Dr. Wantz is the current chair of the Indianapolis Public Library Board of Trustees and a member of the Indianapolis Police Department Merit Board.
