Family Weekend 2018: A time to reconnect
Family Weekend 2018 at the University of Indianapolis is a time to reconnect with family and share the fun, supportive atmosphere that your UIndy Greyhound experiences every day. See a complete schedule here.
Starting Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 through Sunday, Sept. 23, UIndy families can take advantage of events that showcase the beautiful UIndy campus, mingle with world-class faculty and engage in activities to entertain family members of all ages.
The action begins on Friday with men’s and women’s soccer vs. Illinois Springfield at Key Stadium, 5 and 7:30 p.m. At 6 p.m., join in for the Greyhound Family Weekend Gathering at Schwitzer Park. At 8 p.m., magician Josh McVicar brings laughs and surprises (recommended for ages 10 and up.)
UIndy family profile: Meet the Brunnemers
On Saturday, join President Rob Manuel for coffee at 9 a.m. at the Perk in the Health Pavilion atrium. Mascot Ace will also be available for photo opportunities. From 10 to noon, take a tour of the Health and Wellness Clinic with Community Health Network and get your flu shot!
Also at 10 a.m., join Laura Wilson (political science) and Ted Frantz (history) for a discussion on the midterm elections and the state of American politics. Then join President Manuel for lunch at 11:30 a.m. at Nicoson Hall.
At 2 p.m., head over to Key Stadium to cheer on the Greyhounds football team as they host William Jewell, and enjoy the halftime presentation recognizing Legacy Families. The dining hall in the Schwitzer Student Center is open to families starting at 5 p.m. (cost: $7.50/person at the door)
UIndy family profile: Meet the Bickels
At 8 p.m., unwind from the game excitement and connect with your family over jazz performed by the Hawk and Crow Trio in the Health Pavilion Atrium. At 9 p.m., Key Stadium hosts “Movie on the Field,” where you can catch one of summer’s hit movies under the stars!
On Sunday, join the Ecumenical and Interfaith Office for a Christian worship service in McCleary Chapel, Schwitzer Student Center. Guests of all ages welcome. At noon and 2:30 p.m., men’s and women’s soccer takes on McKendree at Key Stadium. All families admitted for free in honor of Family Weekend.
