Leah Milne presents research at MELUS conference
Leah Milne, assistant professor of English, presented research at the Multi-Ethnic Literature of the United States (MELUS) conference in Cincinnati in March 2019.
Milne presented research on John Lewis’s graphic novel, “March,” during the panel entitled, “Teaching Multi-Ethnic Children/YA Literature: Practicing Ethnically Relevant and Responsible Pedagogy.” She also discussed a story from author Carmen Maria Machado’s short story collection, “Her Body and Other Parties,” during “Big Tree, Small Ax: Unearthing Histories in the Works of Women of Color.”
Milne published an article in the Winter 2018 edition of the MELUS journal, entitled, “Disloyal to Civilization: Metafiction as Protest in Gina Apostol’s Gun Dealers’ Daughter.”
