Erin Fekete chosen for ‘Women in Psychology’ leadership program
Associate Professor and Director of Psychological Sciences Erin Fekete was selected to participate in the American Psychological Association’s Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology. The goal of the year-long training is to prepare and empower women as leaders in the field of psychology so that they can make positive changes in the systems in which they are located.
In April, Fekete traveled to Washington, D.C. for three days of training. Attendees learned about different types of leadership, discussed leadership issues, reflected on their own leadership styles and participated in diversity training.
“On the last day of the event we received advocacy training and then lobbied at our Senator’s offices on Capitol Hill to promote campus sexual assault awareness as part of the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act,” Fekete added.
