Amanda Miller’s research makes top 50 most downloaded list for 2018
A publication by a University of Indianapolis faculty member made the top 50 most-downloaded list for 2018.
“Stalled for Whom? Change in the Division of Particular Housework Tasks and Their Consequences for Middle- to Low-Income Couples,” co-authored by Amanda Miller, was 36th on the annual list published by the American Sociological Association. Miller is an associate professor and chair of sociology. Co-authors include Daniel L. Carlson and Sharon Sassler. The article was published in Socius 4, April 2018.
A teaching activity that Miller created was the third most downloaded on ASA Footnotes.
Miller explains: “For the teaching exercise, my colleague Sharon Sassler and I helped students learn to do qualitative coding using real data on why cohabitors tend to move in together. In fact, the very first time I ever did an iteration of that exercise was at my job interview here at UIndy!”
Miller was the lead author of a research paper published in April 2019 in the Journal of Family Issues: “His Career, Her Job, Their Future: Cohabitors’ Orientations Toward Paid Work” (Volume 40, Issue 11).
