UIndy Writing Lab staff attend International Writing Center Associations Annual Conference

The University of Indianapolis Writing Lab was well represented at the recent International Writing Center Associations Annual Conference in Columbus, Ohio, on  October 16-19.  Director Richard Marshall and Associate Director Dawn Hershberger conducted a special interest group entitled “Working with International Students.”

Dawn Hershberger also gave two individual presentations: “The Art of Outreach on a Shoestring” and “The Lagniappe Concept: How the ‘Art of Something Extra’ Can Aid Writing Center Assessment.”

In addition, three of the Lab’s peer tutors, Rebeka Wilder, Amelia Lasbury and Kylie Sabol (pictured, left to right),  gave a panel presentation entitled “Creating a Diverse Writing Center: Painting with Different Strokes.”
