University of Indianapolis School of Education Red for Ed Day Support Statement

The following statement was provided by John A. Kuykendall, Ph.D., associate professor and dean of the University of Indianapolis School of Education, regarding the 2019 Indiana Red for Ed Day:

On November 19, 2019, many school districts across the State of Indiana will stand in solidarity around increased support for public education. The University of Indianapolis School of Education wholeheartedly supports the efforts that our school teachers provide each day to their students. To take this great stand, and fight for what is right, is a freedom we all should exercise when we feel unsupported. Almost all of the future teachers at the University of Indianapolis will be employed in public schools. We encourage our teacher candidates to be advocates for their future profession. We hope the Red for Ed Day events lead to progress that will adequately support the improvement of public schools and the teachers that serve in them.
