Leah Milne receives grant
Leah Milne has received a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) for a summer institute entitled Hurston on the Horizon. In addition to the financial support, the grant gives Milne the opportunity to participate in a summer institute in July on author Zora Neale Hurston. Over 100 people applied, and 25 were accepted.
Hurston’s work focuses on the impact on American literature and culture as an author, anthropologist, journalist, filmmaker, and precursor to the applied humanities. “Hurston on the Horizon” invites twenty-five participants to deepen their appreciation of this prolific writer and foster new directions for teaching and research.
