UIndy Exercise Science students and faculty recently presented research at the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado.
Jayna Badgero ‘23 (Exercise Science) alumna and Esch Scholar presented a podium presentation on the topic of “Individualized occlusion pressures do not provide valid or reliable assessments of mitochondrial function.” The team for this research project included Jayna Badgero, Taylor Peck ‘21 (Exercise Science), Brittany Smeets ‘22 (MS, Exercise Physiology), and Assistant Professors of Kinesiology, Health & Sport Sciences Dr. Nathanial Eckert, Dr. Gary Long, and Dr. Trent Cayot.
Associate Professor of Exercise Science Dr. Mindy Mayol presented a poster presentation on “Examining motivation sources and years competing in sport among NCAA division II student-athletes during COVID-19.” The team for this research project included Dr. Mindy Mayol, Lindsay Neighbors ‘26 (Exercise Science), and Assistant Professors of Kinesiology, Health & Sport Sciences Dr. Trent Cayot, Dr. Nathanial Eckert, Dr. Gary Long, and Dr. Rich Robinson.
Associate Professor of Exercise Science Dr. Mindy Mayol was awarded Fellowship to the American College of Sports Medicine (FACSM). Fellowship awarded by the American College of Sports Medicine is to recognize distinguished professional achievement in research and/or service in the field of sports medicine and exercise science.
