University of Indianapolis hosts Charity Golf Outing benefiting Christel House Indianapolis on April 18

Charity Golf Outing for Christel House

The University of Indianapolis Student Business Leadership Academy (SBLA) will host a Charity Golf Outing benefiting Christel House Indianapolis at the Wood Wind Golf Club on April 18, with tee-off starting at 9 a.m.

Open to the public, a golfer will receive a rewarding playing experience which includes 18 holes with a cart, beverages on the course, breakfast, lunch and prizes. There will be a $5,000 putting contest for golfers to participate in as well.

Sponsorships for the event are still available. If you are an organization or an individual that would like to consider sponsorship of this event, you may contact Project Manager Tyler Will at (812) 264-2333.

The SBLA Charity Golf Outing supports Christel House Indianapolis, which includes four schools. Founded in 1998 by Christel DeHaan, Christel House fights to alleviate childhood poverty through education. With 18 years invested in each child, Christel House transforms lives, breaking the cycle of poverty. It’s more than a school–it’s the support to succeed. The organization follows the philosophy of Maimonides—“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

“The Student Business Leadership Academy is excited to continue our partnership with Christel House Indianapolis, offering this amazing event to help with the CHI’s mission statement,” said previous SBLA President Gerritt Wagner. “Through the SBLA Charity Golf Outing, we can help provide the students of CHI to continue Christel DeHaan’s original mission to offer a holistic education for all students. Last year, over $44,000 was raised for the students of Christel House Indianapolis. The SBLA offers students within the University of Indianapolis School of Business an applied learning atmosphere, and this event does that.”

Interview opportunities are available with SBLA President Noah Vachon and Project Manager Tyler Will. If you are interested in coming to Wood Wind Golf Course and covering this event, you contact Tyler Will at (812) 264-2333 or willt@uindy.edu.
