WRTV: University of Indianapolis students give back to the community
The University of Indianapolis brought back a Welcome Week tradition today with its second annual Service for Impact Day, where more than 200 students, faculty, and staff volunteered at local non-profit organizations. The event, which included work with groups like Horizon House, the Damien Center, and the Boys & Girls Club, is designed to inspire students to engage in community service.
The event is a core part of the university’s motto, “Education for Service.” Marianna Foulkrod, director of the Center for Service-Learning and Community Engagement, said the day reflects the values of the new generation of students. [continue reading]
