The University of Indianapolis earned significant recognition in the U.S. News & World Report 2025 Best Colleges rankings released yesterday, reflecting the University’s growing national reputation for accessibility and academic excellence.
UIndy climbed 60 spots to No. 237 in Top Performers on Social Mobility, highlighting the institution’s commitment to accessibility and opportunity for Hoosier students and beyond. The ranking measures how well universities enroll and graduate students from economically diverse backgrounds.
In academic program rankings, UIndy also saw major gains. The Undergraduate Engineering Programs rose 37 spots to No. 113. The program, which graduated its first cohort in 2020, has quickly established itself among the nation’s best.
“To see this level of recognition in such a short time is extraordinary,” said Dr. Ken Reid, Associate Dean and Director of the R.B. Annis School of Engineering. “With full ABET accreditation secured and our innovative DesignSpine curriculum, we are confident UIndy Engineering will soon be among the top 100 programs in the nation.”
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program jumped 83 spots, now placing in the top 20 percent of programs nationally, a testament to the University’s leadership in healthcare education.
Dr. Brent Arnold, Dean of the College of Health Sciences, praised the achievements of the Nursing program. “This ranking is a reflection of the outstanding faculty, staff, and students who make up our nursing program. We are proud to prepare nurses who are not only highly skilled but also compassionate caregivers ready to meet the demands of today’s healthcare environment.”
“These remarkable gains reflect the hard work of our faculty and staff, and the talent and dedication of our students,” said University of Indianapolis President Dr. Tanuja Singh. “We are proving that UIndy can deliver world-class opportunities while remaining deeply committed to accessibility and service to our community.”
