Ranked among the nation’s top 50, the University of Indianapolis’s occupational therapy and physical therapy programs once again earned national recognition in the latest U.S. News & World Report graduate school rankings.

The UIndy Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) program ranked No. 41 out of 289 programs nationwide.

“UIndy School of Occupational Therapy is proud to once again receive the designation as a Top-50-ranked school,” said Dr. Brenda Howard, co-chair of the School of Occupational Therapy. “With our internationally-recognized faculty, our state-of-the-art facilities and our commitment to an innovative curriculum, community engagement and real-world experiences for our students, we are dedicated to the development of caring and competent leaders who improve the health and well-being of the communities they serve.”

The UIndy Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program ranked No. 48 out of 278 physical therapy programs in the United States.

“I am proud to lead a doctor of physical therapy program ranked among the Top 50 by U.S. News & World Report,” said Tracy Porter, PT, DPT, EdD, and chair of the physical therapy doctorate program. “This recognition reflects the excellence of our faculty, our culture focused on student success and our tradition of outstanding outcomes. I am very grateful for our remarkable Krannert School of Physical Therapy team and the talented students we serve.”

One hallmark of both programs is the Community Patient Resource Group (CPRG), which brings volunteer community members living with a range of disabilities into the classroom to work directly with students. Through these interactions, students in the occupational therapy, physical therapy and physical therapist assistant programs gain real-world clinical experience as early as their first month.
