WXIN: Learning about the world of archaeology at Carmel event

Indiana Archaeology Month is bringing residents to Coxhall Gardens in Carmel for a free archaeology event hosted by Hamilton County Parks and Recreation in partnership with the University of Indianapolis. FOX59 previewed the event with UIndy anthropology professor Christopher Moore, who discussed why archaeology matters and what past digs at the historic Williams House have revealed about local history. Moore brought recovered artifacts such as buttons, broken glass and pottery to show how everyday objects can help archaeologists better understand the people and communities connected to a site.
