Dr. Heidi Hancher-Rauch Named President-Elect of SOPHE Board of Trustees

Dr. Heidi Hancher-Rauch, professor and director of the public health program at the University of Indianapolis was recently elected to serve as the next President of the Board of Trustees for the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE). 

The Society for Public Health Education is a nonprofit association that supports leaders in public health, health education and health promotion to advance healthy and equitable communities across the globe. Dr. Hancher-Rauch is no stranger to SOPHE, where she previously served on their board of trustees and as a national co-chair of their Advocacy & Resolutions Committee. 

When asked what becoming the next President means to her, she stated, “SOPHE has been a professional home for me since the start of my doctoral studies. My membership and engagement in the organization has provided me with the best mentors, professional opportunities, and even lifelong friendships. Being an active part of SOPHE has played a pivotal part in my career and I’m looking forward to giving back to the organization and members through my new leadership role. I highly recommend that others find professional homes like I’ve had the opportunity to do.”
