WXIN: Summer camp at UIndy focuses on healthcare careers

A summer camp at the University of Indianapolis is giving high school students hands-on exposure to healthcare careers, including nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy and kinesiology. A recent FOX59 segment spotlighted the weeklong programs which introduces healthcare workforce pathways to students in grades nine through 12. Gina Woodward, executive director of the Metropolitan Indianapolis-Central Indiana Area Health Education Center (MICI-AHEC), discussed how early career exploration helps students better understand health professions and long-term workforce opportunities.
