Guest Composer Anthony Davis Concert

Renowned Composer Anthony Davis will appear at UIndy for a series of talks, concerts and community engagement activities on February 10-11, 2025.
Hailed as one of the “great living American composers” by the New York Times, Anthony Davis stunned the operatic world with X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X, and his 2020 Pulitzer Prize winning opera, The Central Park Five.
Davis’s extraordinary career pushes the boundaries of jazz, avant-garde, and classical music, and his powerful social messages redefine the role of artists for our times.
Tuesday evening, February 11 at 7 PM, UIndy Faculty and guests will present a free, live concert of Davis’s music, featuring his crossover classical-jazz chamber works, and a powerful baritone aria responding to the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.
