The Kevin R. Armstrong Ethical Leadership Award is given annually to an Indiana resident who demonstrates a long-term commitment to strengthening the larger community through ethical leadership.
About the 2025 Recipient, Oseye Boyd: Prior to joining Mirror Indy, Boyd worked as the public engagement editor for the IndyStar. She is also the former editor of the Indianapolis Recorder, the nation’s fourth oldest Black-owned newspaper. In 2021, she was named Ball State University Outstanding Journalism Alumna!
Outside of work, Boyd enjoys hanging out with her children. She’s a volleyball mom, so she enjoys watching her daughter play. She also likes to exercise and is a certified Body Pump instructor. She loves music and dancing as well as good food and a good book.
In addition, Boyd is an adjunct professor at the Eugene S. Pulliam School of Journalism and Creative Media at Butler University, and she appears monthly on Indiana Week in Review. She also served as a Pulitzer Prize juror in 2024.
The Kevin R. Armstrong Ethical Leadership Award is presented by UIndy’s Center for Ethics, housed in the Department of Philosophy and Religion. For any questions, please contact Dr. Lacey Davidson at davidsonlj@uindy.edu.
