Greyhound pitcher Morgan Foley is a Communication major from Louisville.

UIndy sophomore Morgan Foley delivered a game to remember Friday, throwing 30 strikeouts in an epic, 13-inning,  1-0 victory over Rockhurst in the first round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference softball tournament.

The strikeout total is a new NCAA record at all levels of play for the Communication major from Louisville. The previous mark was 28.

“I felt it walking in,” Foley told The Indianapolis Star for a story that later ran in USA Today. “As soon as the game was over, people were talking about it, but while it was happening, nobody wanted to jinx it.”

The team’s season ended the following day, however, with a 4-0 loss to division rival Bellarmine in the semifinals.
