No. 7 men’s basketball remains undefeated

The UIndy men’s basketball team kicked off 2015 this weekend with a pair of home wins to continue its undefeated season.
Now at 11-0 (3-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference), the Greyhounds are ranked No. 7 nationally in NCAA Division II.
Head Coach Stan Gouard‘s squad knocked off No. 19 Drury 74-57 on Friday, with scoring led by senior Joe Lawson‘s 23 points. Then came a 98-74 win over Missouri S&T on Sunday. Six Hounds were in double figures, including senior Brennan McElroy with 15 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, four blocks and a steal. Lawson again led scoring with 19 points, followed by junior Jordan Loyd with 17.

The women’s team (5-6, 2-1 GLVC) also posted a solid victory Sunday, downing Missouri S&T 69-57. Senior guard Kelly Walter finished with her first career double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Princess German led scoring with 18. Read more about the team here.
