Landscaping improvements at Otterbein Circle

As University Facilities continues work to maintain a beautiful campus for all to enjoy, I write to update you on a landscaping project planned for Fall Break outside of Esch Hall.

The University will replace several trees in Otterbein Circle (circle drive outside the main entrance to Esch Hall) this weekend. The English oak trees planted in the in the circle have failed to thrive since being planted as part of the original construction of the area. The failing condition of the trees will require that they be removed and replaced with much larger Serbian Spruce trees. The new trees will be surrounded by additional landscaping and foliage and offer a pleasant entryway to Esch Hall and view for drivers passing by along Hanna Avenue.

This project is planned for Fall Break so as not to disrupt pedestrian or vehicle traffic in the area. With good weather, the project should be completed by Tuesday, Oct. 17. Trucks and equipment may be coming and going in the area, but this should cause only brief delays.

As our community returns next week from Fall Break, this area will be greatly improved and better represent the quality and beauty of the UIndy campus. If you have questions, please contact facilities@uindy.edu.
