Bill Staples & physical therapy alums publish research
Bill Staples, associate professor in the Krannert School of Physical Therapy, and two KSPT alumni recently published an article in Clinical Interventions in Aging (CIA).
Staples, along with Adam Kays ’15 and Rachel Richman Menkedick ’13 ’15, collaborated on “Examination of the Correlation Between Physical and Psychological Measures in Community-Dwelling Older Adults,” published in CIA earlier this month.
The authors found that objective measures of physical performance can provide information regarding an individual’s symptoms of anxiety and depression, asserting that health professionals should understand the correlations between mood and physical ability to better treat patients.
