SLIDESHOW: Nursing alumni reflect on UIndy effect

From the NICU at Riley Hospital for Children to the surgery ward at IU Health Bloomington, University of Indianapolis nursing alumni are making an impact. Many of them keep in touch with UIndy School of Nursing faculty to talk about where their careers are taking them. Thanks to those wonderful connections, our UIndy family continues to grow.

Mandy Hardin-Morton is a certified birth doula, international board-certified lactation consultant and working on her RNC-OB. She works at Major Health Partners in Shelbyville in labor and delivery. “I love my nursing career and I owe it all to UIndy School of Nursing!”
Danielle Sparling ’20 (BSN) works on the Mother Baby Unit at Ascension St. Vincent Carmel. “It’s a special feeling welcoming new life into the world during such an unprecedented time. Grateful for the knowledge, skills and connections from UIndy. My lovely former OB clinical instructor is now my director at work!”
Hannah Wood ’20 (BSN) works on the Medical Surgical Unit at IU West. “I am beyond blessed to have had the opportunity to get my degree at UIndy! All of the professors and clinical staff were great and truly wanted their students to be successful.”   
Jasmine Coe ’20 (BSN, psychology minor) is pursuing her nursing career at Riley Hospital for Children. “UIndy has significantly impacted me by giving me people I could go to for anything. I have gained lifetime friendships and great mentors. UIndy is a place where staff and faculty knows you by your first name.”  
Christa Carter ’19 (BSN), ’12 (ASN) works at the PACU at St. Francis in Mooresville. She is in her second year of UIndy's Family Nurse Practitioner program. “UIndy helped me build a solid foundation in my nursing profession and I continue to learn and grow as things change over the years.”
Kaylin Smiley ’19 (BSN)) works at the NICU at the Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. “UIndy helped lay such a solid foundation for me in my first year so far as a nurse. I’m so thankful I learned real-world experiences from all of you to draw from in my practice.”
