Banner 9 upgrades

Information Technology has partnered with the Registrar, Financial Aid, Accounting, Human Resources, Admissions and Enrollment Offices to plan for and implement more than 30 Banner upgrades by December 2018. The upgrades are collectively referred to as the Banner 9 upgrade.
You’ve already seen some portions of the Banner 9 upgrade: the Student Registration system implemented in February 2016 and the Employee Dashboard implemented in May 2017.

Why Change?
The technology through which our current Banner system (Banner 8) is delivered will no longer be supported by the vendors who developed it after December 2018.

Banner 9 is also no ordinary upgrade! Not only has the technology architecture changed significantly, it has an updated look and feel, fewer browser dependencies, a mobile-friendly interface, and no longer requires a Java client.

Project Schedule
The following tables list the Banner 9 updates that have already been released and those planned for the next several months.

Banner 9 Admin Pages (INB Equivalent) Release Schedule
Banner Admin Pages will be released as an alternative to existing Banner 8 functionality during the month listed. Both Banner 8 and Banner 9 interfaces will be available and can be used interchangeably for a period of time as individuals transition to using Banner 9 Admin Pages.

Information Technology is developing basic navigation documentation for Banner Admin Pages (the Banner 9 equivalent to Banner INB) as well as a schedule of open sessions where current Banner INB users can try out the new Banner 9 Admin Pages. When scheduled, we will communicate those dates and times through the Intercom site and via email.
